A-Z Fruit and Veg Photo Project: N is for Nuts
I had envisioned that I would be shooting nectarines for this post, but by the time ‘N’ came around they were out of season. Not much else was available to me in this category expect navel oranges. Navel oranges were not an option for me as they are imported from overseas and I believe in supporting local farmers and producers. Besides, I have often given my partner ‘the look’ and ‘the talk’ about buying imported food, specifically navel oranges. My case would seriously lack support if I purchased them for this project, not to mention risk being labelled a hypocrite!
There is a lot of conflicting information about whether nuts are classified as fruits, and the answer is more complicated than a simple yes, but I’m going to say that they are.
A simple and quick composition that exhibits the raw quality of nuts, with their differential colours, shapes and textures.

It was such a fleeting idea, but turned out great. Overhead shots were a little more tricky than I first thought.
Love the idea with the spoons. It lets the colours of the nuts really come out. Makes me hungry just looking at it!
