Stealing from a Charity Garage Sale
There is a place up the road from my house that has been having a garage (yard) sale for months now. Nearly everyday of the week, rain, hail or shine they are selling the clutter from their house to raise money for charity.
This weekend I meandered up there to noisy about. I found a few pieces that I thought would fit well in food prop collection.
A ‘steal’ at $3 – the lot (tea cups, wooden box and glass jug). Too cute!

I seem to have missed this post in my reader… again. Like the wooden box – a REAL steal because nowadays you pay a lot for props like that. Over here, if you find something like that box in a shop, you can be sure it would be $30 instead of $3… Congrats to a great find!
Haha I know right! There are a bunch of antique and bric-a-brac stores in my area and I just only cringe at the price it would have been if I found it in there. Moral of the story is, I need to go to more garage sales! I have already used it in a shoot and loved the results!
I love this picture. Such a simple idea & some great props. Great composition & colours. I just want to place that top cup a little more on top. I keep thinking its going to fall off!
I think the colours and the daffodils in the background help the feeling of the props. I love that you said that about the cup falling over. It totally didn’t make me feel like that at all – but its great that I managed to draw you into the photo and get a reaction out of you like this! hehe
