  1. I’ve really enjoyed looking through your photographs, as you seem to share very similar taste to me. And of course, both our blogs are centred around food and photography!

I’m very new to the blog scene and am just starting out with Table Twenty Eight, but have always loved photography. For years I worked with a manual SLR and film, and I just started shooting digital last year. It’s almost like re-learning photography, as it’s so different in many respects. What do you shoot with? I’m assuming from the lighting most of your work is done in a studio.

Anyway, lovely to share your work – looking forward to seeing more!

    • Yes you have a lovey blog and a great eye! We should definately swap ideas from time to time. I feel a bit the same. I have always had a passion for photography but never took it very seriously. I have always owned a point and shoot, but only this year started to work with a DSRL, so it’s been quite the learning curve for me also! I am self taugh, butI think it helps to that I am creative and motivated! lol. Presently I am shooting with a Nikon D300 and I don’t shoot in a studio! I only use natural light, so I mostly shoot near a window or outside under an awning. I did a post way back in March, called First things First – A space to work in, where you can see just where the magic happens (sometimes)! I do owe some of my skill to the book I read – Plate to Pixel by Helene Dujardin. I highly recommend it! I am happy to have you on board and I also look forward to the posts on your blog! :)

      • Wow, I can’t believe how similar we are! I too am self taught (well apart from my mum’s guidance, who is a wonderful film photographer), use a Nikon D5100 and only shoot in natural light with my trusty tripod. I’ve always loved art and creating but with a demanding full time job I’ve only just made room in my life to pick it up again.

I almost did a double take when I read your ‘About’ section, as my mum will tell you that the first question I would ask in the morning would be ‘What’s for dinner?’ Even now it’s the first thing I ask when she invites me over!

      • And we are both Aussies! lol
Yes it is hard to find the time with a full time job and now being winter, there is less available light at the times I need it, but a challenge is always good.
That is too funny. Born to be food bloggers maybe? My dad and boyfriend and both professional photographers so they help me out techinically, althought creatively Im better. Don’t tell them that lol :P

      • Haha I think I could say the same about my mum. She’s great with chronicling the family but I like styling and building scenes. I’ve always loved taking foodie pics but never really had anything in mind for my collection until a friend encourages me to take up a blog. I’m from Perth, whereabouts in do you call home?

      • Ýeah the blog is a great space to show case your work. It also pushes me to do it regularly. I am in Sydney. Never been over to Perth, but I would so love to!

      • I’ve been to Sydney once on a business trip, ate some fabulous food (the prawn dumplings at Sake were divine!) but didn’t have time to really explore. If you ever plan on coming over, drop me a line and I’ll give you a foodie itinerary of must go eating spots :)
